About Headstreet AI
Why this site exists
AI companion apps are a crowded, fast-moving market. Most lists you find are either paid placements or written from a press release. We started Headstreet AI in 2024 because we wanted a place that compared these platforms on the things that actually matter to paying users: how well the companion remembers you, what the image generator does with your prompts, whether the voice mode sounds like a person, and what the pricing page leaves out.
Who writes it
We are a small editorial team of four: two reviewers, one person on pricing and policy research, and an editor who checks the work before it goes live. None of us are affiliated with the platforms we cover. We do not accept payment for a score, a ranking position or a review. Partner commissions, where they exist, come from links and have no bearing on what we write.
How we work
We do not claim hands-on testing of every app. Our reviews rest on published information: pricing pages, terms of service, privacy policies, feature documentation, changelogs, and user reports from forums and app store reviews. Where a platform's marketing claims something specific, we look for corroboration before repeating it. When we find a discrepancy, we say so.
Each platform gets a score across categories: realism, memory, images, video, voice, customization, value, privacy and ux. The overall score is a weighted view, not an average, and we revisit it as platforms change. A score is a snapshot, not a permanent verdict. We publish our methodology on the How We Rate page.
Editorial independence
Our partner relationships are disclosed. We do not let them shape a review. If a platform pays for a placement, we say so. If we think a platform is bad value, we say that too. Corrections are welcome and we make them promptly. The site is funded by commissions from partner links, and that is it.
